Structure of the course (for Dutch students only)
Our course consists of two parts, Prêt au départ ! (PAD, ready to go!), and Nous voilà partis ! (NVP, on our way!).
- A student book containing texts, grammar explanations, exercises, and more. Schools can decide whether or not to allow students to write in it. The student book can also be consulted almost in its entirety in the app.
- The PAD and NVP language cards language cards with a concise overview of the key grammar.
- The Macco Lingui app. The app is central to the learning journey. In the app, you can listen to almost the entire book, look up grammar and conjugations, complete exercises, and take tests.
- With the Lingui learning environment , you as a teacher can track your students’ progress and administer tests. We offer tests that go with the course, but you can also create your own tests and share them with your colleagues.
- In the app, you’ll find a series of puzzles and worksheets that perfectly complement the course and language cards!
The learning materials can be purchased directly from us (webshop or by email invoicing) or through book suppliers.
The students books for PAD and NVP
- The book contains texts, grammar explanations, exercises, and puzzles.
- PAD and NVP each consist of six chapters.
- The exercises in the book can also be completed in the app.
- Additionally, you work on skills, particularly through the project at the end of each chapter.
- Maps of France can be found on the inside of the cover.
The student books Prêt au départ ! and Nous voilà partis ! are available for €18 and €21 respectively, including VAT.
The language cards
The books come with language cards providing a concise overview of the key grammar. Various exercises and puzzles refer to these language cards so that students gradually become familiar with them. This approach fits well with our course concept, in which students are first introduced to the material passively. Students use the language cards when completing exercises in the book and in the app, and they are also allowed to use them during certain quizzes. By informing students that they may use the language cards during quizzes, they are intrinsically motivated to work with them frequently.
The language cards are available for €2.20, including VAT.
The Macco Lingui app
The Macco Lingui app is central to our method. You can find more general information on the app’s page but below are a few points specific to the course. You can also get a good impression of the app by visiting app.macco.nl and creating a free account!
- The app contains many digital exercises, where we attach great importance to practicing sentences. Students can earn medals by scoring well and the teacher can see the students' progress in the student tracking system of the Lingui+ module.
- The app also contains the material and exercises from the books. With the app everything can be listened to (voiced by native speakers) and the teacher can provide the answer model to the class for each assignment. Very pleasant for both teacher and student!
- The app also serves as a study guide: by following the app, students know the recommended sequence for working through the material in both the app and the books. The app also supports differentiation: you can choose from three difficulty levels, which will provide different suggestions for exercises, ranging from easier (passive) to more challenging (active) tasks.

A handy class overview that lets you see each student’s progress at a glance. You can view not only the scores but also the answers given. - Online tests
With the Lingui learning environment, digital tests can be administered and are automatically graded. Teachers can also choose to grade manually and provide feedback. Teachers can create their own tests, but we also offer ready-made tests, especially suited for formative assessment. - Access to all our puzzles and worksheets
Through the Lingui learning environment, teachers have access to all puzzles and worksheets. Print them out or share the PDFs with students for extra practice or variety in the classroom! - User-friendly management system
The administrator (for example, a system administrator or a teacher assigned this role) can easily create classes, assign teachers, and set up student accounts. Students then automatically receive an email with their login details and instructions for getting started with the app. Additionally, the administrator can purchase and assign licenses.
